Technical Approach:
AMS’s unique approach to power supply design is different than any other company in the world. AMS’s design starts with the transformer (magnetics) which is the heart of the circuit, though this has been a neglected, untaught field in electronics and therefore ignored by the existing players in the field.
After three years of extensive R&D, AMS has successfully developed a methodology that when compared to existing power adapter solutions enables the design of resonant transformers that are 50% smaller, 50% lighter and more efficient. This enables AMS to reduce the heat created during charging by over 30%.
In its implementations, AMS uses off-the-shelf components, inexpensive materials and a simpler design (patent pending) to build these super efficient power adapters, which will ultimately result in price matching of the current power adapters' prices.
